Hello, I have a basic question I'm hoping to get some help with. I have an application which needs to use SMTP for emailing from the application. I have read through the KB, and watched an ignite video which walks through the options. It all seems pretty self explanatory, but..
My question is basic I think but need some input. We have 1 server, 2008 R2, its not externally facing, meaning its running file and print services, local DNS, and application hosting.
When setting up the IIS that is talked about in the KB, does it need to be on a server with an externally facing public IP? or can I install it on the server I have and it will relay it out?
Second is, when I setup IIS with SMTP, what is the server name? The application is asking for the SMTP server name to point to...there is a section in the setup that asks for a domain name, but nothing that I saw lets you name it.
