Scenario:
We have had Office 365 for some time (no local Exchange Servers) and due to using Netware has not previously had Active Directory
Now, after we migrating from NetWare to Active Directory the AD will be populated with users.
[Presume that NetWare migration has occurred and AD is populated]
We do need to make sure that any information held only in O365 is first synchronized with AD before making local AD the authentication master.
ADFS (and ADFS Proxy) are installed and ready to go (along with DirSync) but nothing has YET been done to Federate O365 to the AD.
Can you help us locate a guide to this deployment?
We need to understand fully in what order to make each change for best results.
What tool(s) must be installed to administer O365 (remember, no local Exchange Server is present).
Any help locating Microsoft or other resources would be greatly appreciated.
1. Migrate users to AD (from NetWare)
2. Capture O365 information
3. Merge O365 information with equivalent user on AD
4. Create the O365 trust and federate
5. Enable DirSync
The mechanics of step 2-3 are not really (much of) a concern, although have a script in hand to do it would be a benefit.
The important question is if this is a good sequence and what is missing.

I believe it goes something like this:
1. Migrate users to AD (from NetWare)
2. Capture O365 information
3. Merge O365 information with equivalent user on AD
4. Create the O365 trust and federate
5. Enable DirSync
