So many people are complaining about the same thing and yet, there are no clear answers, or if there is an answer, it's simply that nothing can be done.
There are a large amount of companies that use ONLY OWA and not a local client. We support one of those many companies.
Basic requirements are the following;
- Centralised contacts, where all employees want to add contacts.
- Add more than one email address per contact.
The solution is apparently to use the external contacts, which is relatively easy enough. The flaw with that is that you need to be an administrator, that is ridiculous. You can easily manage contacts with local exchange, both on OWA and or Outlook client.
Secondly, if you are using your normal contacts, it all works well, you can add all the fields you want, multiple email addresses per contact and so on. With external contacts, this is not possible, seems to have 1/3 of the functionality.
It's a real shame and I can see why many people move away and go to a resellers exchange service instead of office365. Why cannot you provide such simple requirements, it would be an AMAZING system. It's nearly there, just needs these bits (well done for bringing back public folders too)
If anyone can shed some light into how to resolve the above ( centralised contacts without admin and being able to use multiple fields such as email addresses per one contact) please let me know,
Many thanks,
CM
