Cannot remove Accepted Domains from Exchange Online

I set up my private domain in Outlook 365 to replace the onmicrosoft.com default domain name but decided to revert to the original set up as I could no longer send to other pop email accounts still located at my private domain.

The removal of my private domain from Outlook 365 seemed to go ok but emails to my private domain sent from the onmicrosoft email account fail to send because Outlook still seems to think it has the private domain assigned to it. All other sending and receiving of emails work fine.

There is no sign of the private domain existing in Outlook 365 BUT in Exchange Admin under the Mail Flow section the private domain is listed as one of the Accepted Domains (there are actually two now as I've tried to re-create and re-delete the domain transfer to see if it cleared things. It didn't).

I have been though many previous posts and used Powershell to try and delete these Accepted Domains but I can find no user option to do this.

It's been about 3 days since I deleted the domains from Outlook 365 and it doesn't look like anything in likely to change automatically without intervention so, how can these false Accepted Domains be deleted?

Thanks, Alistair
